DIY Tutorial - How I Clean My Make-up Brushes!

As I was cleaning my make-up brushes today I had an idea that this would make a great blog post, as when I first got my set of brushes I had no idea on how to clean them, so I thought that this post may help some of you lovely people out there.

I try and clean my brushes at least once a week,as leaving your brushes dirty can lead to more acne on your face and no body wants that!

The picture below shows my make-up brush collection. On the left hand side of this picture there is the Real Techniques Powder Brush 1401 and the Real Techniques Blush Brush 1407 and then there is the Real Techniques Core Collection 1403, I decided to add the powder brush and the blush brush to the stand so it's easier to see all of my brushes. I also own the Real Techniques Starter Set 1406 which is on the right hand side of this picture.

When I clean my brushes I tend to use the Johnson's baby shampoo as I feel cleans the brushes well and it makes the brushes feel soft and smelling good! I then run a small bowl of lukewarm water, as personally I don't like to leave the tap running. However, I do change the water a few times depending on how dirty it is.

I then take a brush and my baby shampoo, I then squeeze some of the shampoo onto the brush or my hand, whatever I feel like and then rub the brush into the palm of my hand and then shake the brush in the water to get all the shampoo out.

Once I've done the same thing to all of my brushes the then leave them on a towel to air dry!

How do you clean your brushes? & Was this an helpful post?

February Favourites!

Hello my lovelies! How are you all?
I know I'm a little early with this blog post but I just couldn't wait to share with you all my February favourites, so here they are!

In the picture below is my beloved Baby Lips and Eos lip balm. You can see my review here and my review on my Eos lip balm here. Both balms make my lips feel so soft and they also make my lips stay so hydrated.

The Vosene de-tangling spray and Trevor Sorbie heat defence blow dry spray are amazing products! I have thoroughly loved using these products this month.

Another one of my favourites is my tangle teezer. This is such an amazing brush! I love how you can get these brushes in many different styles and colours. I wouldn't buy them from Boots though because they are more expensive than buying them on ebay.

I have been testing out this product below for around two months now and I think I've used it enough to say it's one of my favourite now. This is the Avon Sleep Therapy. To use this product all you do is spray a few sprays onto you pillow and a few more into the room.I genuinely believe that this product is helping me sleep. It smells amazing.

What products have you loved using this month?

It's all about Baby Skin!

Hello my lovelies! How are you all?
I recently did a blog post called It's all about Baby Lips here. So, now I thought I would do one about the Baby Skin by Maybelline.
I purchased this product around one month ago from Boots and it cost £7.00 here.

This product claims to leave a matte finish and leave the skin fresh, soft and protected. It also says that it will vanish pores and make the skin feel light.
It says you can apply the primer alone or wear it under make-up.It recommends that you use your fingers to apply evenly to the face and wait till it sets before putting on make-up.This product also states that it is suitable for all skin types and tones.
Personally, I apply the primer with my fingers before putting on my make-up.I think that this product does reduce the size of my pores but I wouldn't say that it vanishes them as it claims to do.It does leave my skin feeling soft and light, it also works great with my make-up.The only criticism I have is that I think there is not enough product for the money, 22ml is quite a small amount to me. However, I do love the packaging, it's bright and cute.

To be honest I really like this product and I will be repurchasing this item again as I love how it feels on my skin.

Have you tried Baby Skin? What are your thoughts on it?

What's in my make-up bag!

Hello my lovelies! How are you all?

This blog post as you can guess from the title, is about what is in my make-up bag.

The make-up bag I use is one from Ted Baker. I'm lucky enough to live near an outlet and I managed to purchase the bag for only £14! When originally it should have been £22. I just absolutely love the floral patten and the colours on the bag.

Here is a picture of everything I carry around in my make-up bag!
As it is a fairly large bag I tend to carry around way more than I actually need.

The picture below shows all the base products I carry with me. There are two foundations and two primers in this picture, see what I mean about carrying too much, haha!
I will list the products from left to right.
1) L'Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer £14.29 The link for this product is here.

Next is the high lighter I like to use. It is MACs Pearlmatter in Pink Butter-Cream. Unfortunately they do not have this on their website so I cannot post a link. I am lucky enough to live near a small MAC outlet and I purchased this for around £15 pounds and I know at full price it is in the £20's.

In the next picture below there are my eye shadows.
1) Barry M Eye shadow in cream. £4.49. I was lucky to find this in the Boots sale in January and I only paid £1.00. The link for this product is here.
2) MAC Duo Mineralize Eye Shadow in Sage and Wisdom. This product is not discontinued. Again, I found this in my local outlet and I paid £11.00
3) Barry M Eye Shadow in the colour Brown. £4.49. I found this too in the January sale and I only paid £1.00 for this item. The link for this product is here.

Favourite Skin Care Products!

Hello my beauties! How are you all?
I really should be catching up with all the work I'm missing from college but blogging to you lovely people interested me more!
I thought I would share with you all my favourite skin care products!

The picture below is of the basic products I use daily.

Here is a list of the products:
1) Simple Kind To Skin Facial Wipes
These are the most wonderful make-up wipes in the world! They are great for refreshing and toning your skin, they also work great for sensitive skin types like mine. They contain vitamin B5 which actively restores, softens and smooths your skin. They cost £3.25 from Boots and the link for them is here.
2) Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser 150ml.
If you have been following my blog from beginning then you'll have seen my post on this moisturiser and how much I love it! If not then the link to that post is here. It really does do wonders for my skin. It costs around £3.99 from Boots and the link to see it on their website is here.
3) Soap and Glory Peaches and Cream 3-in-1 Wash off Deep Purifying Cleanser 200ml.
This product is great for when you cannot be bothered to take of your make-up with a wipe and then go an wash your face separately as one of its factors is that it removes make-up.It de-clogs your T-zone, boots circulation and it is also balanced for all skin types! It costs around £5.33 from Boots and the link for that is here.
4) Soap and Glory Super Eyes Instant Action Moisturising Eye Gel 15ml.
Unfortunately, I think this product has been discontinued as I can no longer find it in Boots or on their website, which is a shame. I also cannot remember how much it cost as it was my mum who bought the product and I pinched it from her. However I do know that they have something called the Puffy Eye Attack which I think does the same thing. The link for that is here.

I'd love to know what your favourite skin products are! Maybe you can convince me to try new products.

The picture below are all of my favourite hair care products I use regularly.

I will list them going from left to right.
1) TONI&GUY Firm hold hair spray 250ml
I know this packaging doesn't exist any more as Toni&Guy had a slight make-over but I think I bought it for just over £6.
2) Trevor Sorbie beautifully straightened heat defence blow dry spray 50ml.
I picked this travel size one up as it was on sale in Boots for one pound and it's great for when I go to Swansea to see Miko. This is another product I cannot seem to find on the Boots website any more, which is a shame as I think this product it great and smells lovely.
3) Charles Worthington takeaways protect heat defence spray 50ml.
Unfortunately, this is once again another product I can no longer find on the Boots website. I purchased it in the sales for £1.
4) ghd thermal protect for dry, coarse hair 150ml.
This product came free when I purchased ghd straighteners. I'm not sure where else you can get this other than in salons!
5) Vosene Kids extra shine detangler spray 150ml.
This product is fab as it contains head lice repellent as well as getting out all the nasty tangles in my hair. I purchased this from ASDA and the link is here. At the moment they have it on offer for £1.
6) Herbal Essences Fresh Balance Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner 400ml each.
I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner. If you would like to know more about my thoughts on these products then check out my blog post on them here. You can also find there products in Boots, Superdrug and local supermarkets.
7) Herbal Essences Bee Strong hair mask 200ml
I recently purchased this product in the sales too for around £2. The normal price of this is £4.19 in Boots. You can find this product on their website here. I have also heard that you can find this in pound shops too! I tend to use this product around once a week

Here are the products I use in the shower.

Here are the products I use after I shower to protect and style my hair.

I would honestly recommend all of these products to anyone and everyone. I love them all and would definitely repurchase them as they leave my hair feeling soft and smelling great!

Update!

Hello my lovely readers! How are you all?

TGIF! Hooray it's Friday, finally the weekend is here! I hope you all have had a great week.Unfortunately, I've been in the hospital since Wednesday as I had my appendix taken out on Wednesday night. It's a common operation but does leave you extremely sore afterwards. It does take around two weeks to fully recover but obviously it depends on the person as every person is different.
I will try and keep blogging as much as I can!

Anyways, here's a few pictures from my time in hospital. In the first picture it's me and my new friend called Bianca. I know I look rough but to be honest I just had surgery, who can blame me!The second picture is me in my hospital bed with the tube in my arm, I was really feeling sorry for myself then because it was the morning after my operation. The third picture is of my table I had over my bed with a couple of magazines on and also the balloon my mum brought me to not make the place look so dull.

I'm still in a lot of pain so my plan for this weekend is just to chill and relax. Miko is home for the weekend so he can take care of me, hehe! Bless him.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions about my op etc!

What have you guys and gals been up to this week? & Got any plans for the weekend?

It's all about Baby lips!

Hello my lovelies!
How are you all? How's your week going?
I do apologise once again for the lack of posts, I was in Swansea for five days last week for an interview and also spending time with Miko, which was lovely.
Anyways, today I thought I would share with you all my Baby Lips collection by Maybelline.

The pictures below are all the ones I have so far. I'm only missing the Pink Punch one.

This first one is called Cherry Me. This one has eight hours of moisture and also adds a slight tint to your lips.

This one is called Intense Care. It also has eight hours of moisture. This one has SPF 20 which is great!

This one is called Mint Fresh. This one is very similar to the intense care as it has eight hours of moisture and has SPF 20. It does smell very minty!

This one is called Peach Kiss. It gives eight hours of moisture and personally I think it adds a slight tint of colour to your lips too.

This one is called Hydrate. Has eight hours of moisture and has SPF 20 too.

There is one in the photo below which unfortunately I don't have a single picture of. It doesn't look like the normal Baby Lips and I happened to pick it up when Maybelline had an offer on and I haven't seen it since. It simply just a light pink and like the rest of them, it has eight hours of moisture.

Baby Lips cost £2.99 each and at the moment there is buy one get one half price in Superdrug and I think the offer is in Boots too! I do know that in Boots Maybelline is three for two at the moment!

To be honest I can't choose a favourite one as I think they are all great and there is one for whatever mood you are in! I really do think that they moisture and condition my lips for a very long time. My lips feel so smooth! I would honesty recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Do you have a favourite Baby Lips? If so what one?
Let me know in the box below!
